Several fleets still have sportfishers available for Cabo Jackpot

There's a variety of ways to fish the tourney. The teams in the tourney fish on vessels that range from pangas to super cruisers. Some are privately owned and based in Baja, some trailerboated down for the event, but most are chartered boats.

There are a number of reputable charter companies, and even if they do not have any boats left for the tournament, they can often recommend boats that are owned an individually chartered.

There is big of advice for those booking a charterboat for the first time. Daily prices will not be the same as those quoted on websites for the companies. They often charge more for tournament fishing due to longer fishing time, wear and tear in boats with faster runs to the grounds and higher fuel costs and thus extra pay to crews.

There is a list of charterboats below. The best Cabo sources to back up your choice is to call one or more of the established fleets such as Pisces, Minerva's, RedRum, J.C.s. Dreammaker and Cortez Yacht Charters to look for opening and advice on a charterboat you might want to book.

If you are looking to add someone to your team, or more likely find a team yourself, go on Facebook and post a message. Capt. Jay Bush of the Stimulator is looking to bring together a charter/tea for two boats, the other the 43-foot fully rigged Squisher.

Cortez Yacht Charters
Said Larry Edwards, “We still have six, each 33' Crystaliner sportfishers, all 20- to 25-knot boats at the rate of $700/day, including the crew, fuel, tackle, (we recommend bringing personal tackle when fishing in money tournaments) dispatch fees, ice & 11 % taxes.

We also have the 36' Egg Harbor sportfisher, "Gaviota VI" available at the rate of $775/day, including the crew, fuel, tackle, (we recommend bringing personal tackle when fishing in money tournaments) dispatch fees, ice & 11% taxes.

Mexican fishing licenses are issued at check-in time at the prevailing rate, currently $13 per person, per day.  Live bait, when available, is $3 per bait and paid direct to the bait vendor at time of receipt, (the bait price is controlled by the bait vendors and can be based on supply and demand at the time).  Food and beverages should be ordered from client's hotel on the evening prior to fishing and brought aboard each morning.  Pre-tournament fishing days are $550/day for the 33-footers and $625/day for the 36 footer.
