TRACY EHRENBERG of the Pisces fleet listens to a youngster to talks about how a Cabo charity, Nuevo Creation, saved him from a life on the streets. Last year’s winning Early Bird drawings winners check out their gear. This year the Early Bird drawing will be a charity Grand Finale drawing, to be won by ONE angler. All entrants will be eligible, but more tickets at $5 each can be bought throughout the tourney, with proceeds going to two children’s charities in Cabo.

The Grand Finale drawing for charity will be held Saturday night to conclude the 2010 event. Two childrens charities in Cabo will benefit from the sale of raffle tickets, $5 or $20 for five tickets, that will enhance your chances of winning that huge prize package. Those tickets will be sold for the duration of the event. You can buy as many as you like.

"The Early Bird drawing had run its course, and a third of the teams did not qualify for the drawing, and this year we decided to take those prizes and come up with a fundraiser," said Chuck Buhagiar, advertising and marketing director at WON. "Our goal is $15,000. How we will do that is that raffle tickets will be sold over all four days, right up to the drawing. Everyone who enters the tournament will automatically have one have a chance at winning without buying more raffle tickets, but buying more tickets will aid the charities."

The drawing will be for an individual, said Buhagiar, not for a team. There will be four of each sponsor prizes. How the angler decides to dole out his big prize package is up to him.

"Some teams might pool their money and tickets in a pact, while other anglers in teams will go it alone," said Buhagiar. "Whatever the arrangement, there will be $10,000 or more worth of prizes for that one person."
